VW affair: provides personnel chief Hartz resignation

Wolfsburg (Germany), 09.07.2005 - Peter Hartz, VW-Personalvorstand, hat nach den schweren Vorwürfen in der Korruptions- und Schmiergeldaffäre um den Wolfsburger Autokonzern am gestrigen Freitag, dem 8. Juli, Konsequenzen gezogen und dem Aufsichtrat seinen Rücktritt angeboten. Er wolle damit weiteren Schaden vom Unternehmen abwenden.

In den letzten Tagen war bekannt geworden, dass dem VW-Betriebsrat auf Anweisung von Hartz ein Budget zur freien Verfügung bereit gestellt worden sein soll. Mit diesem Geld seien unter anderem Luxusreisen und Besuche bei Edel-Prostituierten gezahlt worden.
